About “Debbie Mazzuca

  • Debbie Mazzuca

Debbie Mazzuca always dreamed of becoming a published author, and thanks to the encouragement of her grandfather, author Dudley Copland, she never doubted her dream would come true.Because her grandfather not only instilled in her a love of reading and writing but a passion for everything Scottish, she took a trip to Scotland in 2006 A slight detour had her touring the Isle of Skye instead of her grandfather s home town of Peterhead The magic of the highlands and the legend of a fairy flag captured her heart and her writer s imagination From there her debut novel, Lord Of The Isles, was born.Debbie lives in Ottawa, Canada with her very own hero, two of their three wonderful children, and a yappy Yorkie.

  • Medical intern Ali Graham travels to The Isle of Skye in Scotland to be in a photo shoot and somehow manages to end up at Dunvegan Castle instead of the hotel how does that happen The keeper welcomes her and gives her a bit of the legend of the MacLeod clan and the legend of the fairy flag a flag with the power to grant three wishes to the clan when most needed After settling into her bed, Ali dreams of making love with a studly Scot to awaken and find it s not a dream there is a man in her bed [...]

  • Actually I Loved this book but would not say it was Amazing I thought the story really good even though this story line has been done before It s about a Lady doctor who time traveled back in time I really like both the HH in this book as well as a bunch of secondary characters in this book The sexual tension was really good and the heat was not as hot as I like it but hot enough to please me All and all for a first book from this author I truly enjoyed it and plan to read from her when she rel [...]

  • I absolutely loved it I have frequently been seen to either be laughing or grinning while reading The characters are well developed It is a wonderful book that you just can t put down.

  • Well, Lord of the Isles wasn t quite as horrible as I thought it would be But it still is in the running for one of the worst books I read in 2010 The beginning was awful, with Allie, the main character a medical resident turned model waking up in the bed of a 16th century laird due to fairy magic The dialogue and storyline was just idiotic I also couldn t figure out how Allie and the castle residents would have communicated, as I m pretty sure that 16th century highlanders almost exclusively sp [...]

  • I was given this book from a friend of mine We exchange books throughout the year she lives in AZ and I in AL and she sent me this in a little package with some chocolates I had never heard of the author before and didn t know what the book would be about She simply left a little note with something like I know how we love Highlanders and I enjoyed this one, maybe you will too.So in I dove, reading the first chapter and being hooked The extra bonus was that it was a time travel and my spirits we [...]

  • My favourite ever historical romance is Diana Gabaldon s Outlander Cross Stitch series Yet for some reason when looking for my next highland romance to read I ve skipped past those whose story comes about from time travel Travelling to Scotland for a modelling job, Ali Graham goes to sleep tucked up in bed at Dunvegan Castle in the 21st Century and yet wakes in the same room in the 16th century Not sure where I came along Lord of The Isles but I m so glad I did Its a fantastic story that had me [...]

  • After searching for something new I came across this on the Kindle I can t say enough about this Author and novel The story line had me from the start, I cried along with the characters and laughed my self to death on a few parts it s pretty bad when you have your nose stuck in a book, laughing like crazy and your kids wonder what is wrong with you I can t wait to read the next in the seriesReally hoping she goes on with it for a while.

  • Mix together a generous portion of the following Sexy brogueKiltsA lochFairy magicTime travelSteamy adult situations sex too Combine over high heat and throw in a Highland Laird named Rory and a modern heroine named Aileanna aka Ali Serve it up hot and enjoy.I was in the mood for a highland fix and this book had everything I have a personal list of ingredients that make a good Highlander tale and this one had it all The cast of characters balanced the story and provided opportunities to understa [...]

  • Well, I have read a ton of Highlander Time travel novels so it takes a lot for me to fall in love with any new ones This book is definitely one of my favorites I loved the relationship between the two main characters The author put a different twist in the story that I loved and was not expecting Overall, I thought it was well written and a great story Hope you like it as much as I did

  • I wanted to read this book because it s a time travel, which is a favorite paranormal read for me While the actual time traveling part of the story is pretty good, it s the characters who I never really warmed up to until the very end, which is a little too late to bring a reader around to that wow factor that s needed to make it a great read.Ali is a medical intern with some issues going on in her job, so she s taken a modeling job in Scotland to let things die down at home Not sure where the m [...]

  • Lord of the Isles Isles Series, Book 1 by Debbie MazzucaGenre Historical Romance Time Travel FantasyRating 3.5After travelling to Scotland on business, the bed of a highland laird is the last place Ali Graham expected to wake up But there s no mistaking the irresistibly masculine Scottish Highlander whose chambers she s accidentally infiltrated or the severe wound he s suffered in battle As a doctor, Ali knows how to heal his injury, how to nurse his body back to health What she doesn t know is [...]

  • A wonderful, sweet and heart warming story With a Sexy Highlander, a good dash of humor, time travel, fairy lour, and some steamy romance, what s not to like This tale definitely has a good feather effect going, in the beginning Ali hears the legend of how the fairy flag of the MacLeods saved them when they were in battle with another clan Then when Ali herself ends up back in time she find s herself there to save their Laird Rory MacLeod is if nothing else committed to two things in life, his C [...]

  • Stars 4Overall I really enjoyed this story than i thought I was going to There just seemed to be a realistic, magical quality i found to the story, that made it so i couldn t put the book down Even though the book could be a little predictable at times, i still felt the romance between Ali and Rory to be heart warming, witty and very very steamy I really liked that the book changed the POVs, so you really got a better idea of what was going on and how the other person s felt towards each other [...]

  • 4 starsI loved loved the combination of highland magic, passionate strong fun characters, captivating storyline and of course happy ending I loved Debbie Mazzuca s storytelling style, simple, straight forward yet with twists turns and with such passion that had me reading til 5am.The highland magic, Fairy flag bestowed to the MacCleod clan with three wishes. The storyline, 21st century, Dr Ali Graham, pulled into the highlander past to cure Rory MacCleod No one can explain the uncanning likeness [...]

  • I found this book by accident, and I loved it Debbie did an amazing job in writing the story, and my oh my Rory is a hero I was actually intrigued by Ali, usually when this sort of time travel 16th century story is written, the female is a cowering weakling, but Ali was wonderful I am going to search for of her books I am hoping that there is a story for Iian and Fergus I loved the world that was created, and even though it was extremely hard for Ali being in a different challenging time, the [...]

  • I loved this book with the whole time travel idea mixed with a bit of fae magic There was some angst between the main characters but not enough to put me off It also had a surprise twist I didn t see coming Ali was awesome I enjoyed her wit and several times I laughed out loud at her interaction with Rory Then there were times when I teared up and could feel the heartache I loved all the side characters as well All in all, It was everything I would want in a romance I can t wait to read the next [...]

  • Time Travel and a hunky Highlander, what can a girl want Have never read Debbie Mazzuca before, but I find her writing quite good It was a enjoyable read but perhaps lacks just a bit of the X factor to make it a remarkable read

  • I was so surprised at how much I loved this book No disrespect to the author, I simply mean I picked this up and expected it to be a typical romance novel And on top of that, it was a time travel romance novel, and I have read a fair few of those. This was brilliant Character development was really interesting and the whole collection of characters felt warm and inviting I really felt like I was a part of the family, a part of the story and a part of the journey I highly recommend this for anyone [...]

  • Aileanna, Ali, Graham is a docter in her fourth year as a resident After a mistake made by the docter in the operating room, he blames Ali for it She is forced to take some time off A friend offers her a job in Scotland doing a photo shoot for Vogue When she arrives at what she thinks is her hotel she finds herself at a castle by the same name The caretaker offers her a room to rest in until he can get her a ride to the hotel When Ali falls asleep she dreams she is in bed with a man and they sta [...]

  • While the story line has been done before, like a lot, I have to say I did enjoy this It wasn t original by any means in structure We have a woman visiting Scotland, with a medical background, who finds herself thrust back in time to meet a highlander Ringing any bells Throw in she s unknowingly a twin Ironically, I just read A Laird for All Time, and while Lord of the Isles is much, much better, the stories are ridiculously homogeneous Putting that aside and judging the book on its own merit, l [...]

  • Ok I was all kinds of skeptic when I read the first chapter about when she pulls up to a castle in a storm and is greeted by an old guy who tell the legend of the area castle I was thinking man this is getting boringBoy am I glad I stuck out the first chapter because it has all 3 of my favourite things to read about.HAWWT HIGHLANDERSECKTIME TRAVELECKFAE OR FAIRY FOLKCHECK Debbie Mazucca has managed to mix 3 of my favourite genres into a gooey pot of awesomeness A gifted fairy flag fricken cool a [...]

  • This book was a pleasure to read and full of suprises.Enter in a feisty female Doctor intern named Ali Graham, a fairy flag, a stubborn Scottish Laird Rory MacLeod, fairy magic, love, warriors and an unexpected twist and you have an idea as to how captivating this story was.I loved how Ali wouldn t be talked into anything she didn t want to do, include being bossed around by the men in her life and her skills really do come in handy. There were a few times when I wanted to shake Rory as he was be [...]

  • I was in the mood for a light, fun, quick read and that s exactly what I got I enjoy time travel romance, and the Scottish Highlands seems to be a popular destination This is no Outlander by any means, but an entertaining story nonetheless I m always interested in how creative the authors are in accomplishing the time travel Some plots seem plausible, and others are just down right sillyis book falls somewhere in between Luckily for me, I am able to dismiss reality and just enjoy the story for w [...]

  • I began reading this book with great expectations I do enjoy reading time travel books and have read some really amazing stories from other authors I made it through the first chapter and I said oh oh I muddled through the next 2 chapters and I closed the book and decided that I will pick it up again when I ve run out of other reading material It just didn t have that gumph, that drawing force that kept me interested I did not enjoy this at all and found it disappointing There are so many wonder [...]
