A Tale From The Past.This book came as a real surprise Not what I d normally go for but it turned out to be a great read Dan draws you into the story from the first page and from then onwards you can t put it down, as you always want to know what happens next With that said, time to move on to book two and find out Surprisingly good, so five stars.

Another interesting take on the vampire mythos I ve always enjoyed my fiction with an historical flavour This book certainly has that and it is bkended in rather well I was a little disappointed with the mechanics of vampirism and vampire progeny being glossed over The protagonist held my interest and I m about to start the sequel Recommended.

It was a fun and quick read You feel transported to the time of the crusades You understand the brutality of the time, without cloaking it in fantastic whimsy The portayal of vampires is atypical, which is refreshing after so much sexy, sparkly gobblegook that inundates the genre Well worth the read and I look forward to the sequel.
